Social Media Code of Conduct

All FMMHA participants that engage in social media and networking are asked to follow the Social Media Code of Conduct

a)  It should be recognized that social media and comments such as texting, are on the record and can be instantly published and available to the public and media. Anyone can review social media communications and can request transcripts of written messages related to FMMHA through FOIP (Freedom of Information and Privacy Act) request.

b)  Use your best judgment at all times - pause before posting or sending. Once your comments are posted or sent, they cannot be retracted. Ultimately, you are solely responsible for your comments. Consider everything you post to be read by everyone's child and grandparents. Teamsnap is not the place to discuss team negative behaviour or team issues.

c)  Posts involving the following will not be tolerated and may be subject to discipline

  1. Verbal Bullying - name calling, sarcasm, teasing, spreading rumors, threatening, making negative references to one's culture, ethnicity, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation and sexual comments.
  2. Social Bullying - mobbing, scape goading, excluding others from a group, ganging up on and group teasing;
  3. Cyber Bullying - using the internet or text messaging to intimidate, put-down, spread rumors or make fun of someone. This includes the posting of YouTube Videos and/or the posting of videos on Facebook which may be signalling out individuals in a defamatory fashion.
  4. Bullying, harassment, intimidation or threats of any type.
  5. Making negative or derogatory comments about, or statements deemed detrimental to the welfare of, any individual or group.
  6. Divulging confidential information or any other matter of a sensitive nature.
  7. Posting photographs, video or comments promoting negative influences or criminal behaviour, including but not limited to drug use, alcohol abuse, public intoxication, hazing, and sexual harassment.
  8. Undertaking activity that contradicts the current policies of Hockey Alberta or FMMHA.
  9. Undertaking activity that is meant to alarm other individuals or to misrepresent fact or truth. Posting vague or cryptic updates, otherwise known as vaguebooking, in order to manipulate or entice reactions from others.
